I love dancing, primarily bollywood and hiphop. In my freshman year, I joined Cal's bollywood fusion dance team, Azaad, and the following year, I served as captain, which was one of the most rewarding experiences of my time at college. I helped lead a team of 30 to create a 10-minute bollywood-fusion production based off of The Adventures of Tintin. Months of preparation including hiring professional DJs to create a unique mix, a videographer to create a professional performance introduction, building physical props (including a 13-foot tall ship mast with PVC pipes and a giant cardboard diamond with LED lights), performing at countless weddings to raise money, developing and recording a storyline and script, and endless hours of team practices and meetings culminated in us traveling around the country to compete and ranking 22nd nationally. I learned countless lessons about leadership and organization, and I am extremely grateful for both the experience I gained, as well as my teammates who put their faith in me.
